This week, I had the honour of speaking at the Speak and Shine event on the theme Vibrant Women in Business. As the first speaker out, I shared my belief that when women connect with their vibrancy, everything changes – for themselves and their businesses.
Women Evolve More
I believe women go through more evolutionary phases in life than men. Our roles pivot constantly – daughters, sisters, partners, carers, friends, leaders, colleagues – and we bend, flex and adapt with no training manual. We just get on with it.
But with every change, there’s a risk of losing ourselves. Our values and beliefs have to realign with our new roles, and sometimes the real “us” gets blurred.
The Flip Side: Reinvention
That same flexibility also means we have countless opportunities to upshift our identity, to reinvent ourselves, and to create lives and businesses that fulfil us – if we choose to.
At House of Colour, I worked with hundreds of incredible women who rediscovered their vibrancy during times of transition. Sometimes that led to huge changes – new careers, new relationships, even a complete redefinition of who they were.
What Vibrancy Really Means
The dictionary says vibrancy is “full of energy and life, strength and vitality”. But for me, vibrancy is multi-faceted:
- It’s not about being loud or standing out.
- It’s about knowing what lights you up inside.
- It’s about feeling aligned, authentic, and energised.
- Vibrancy is personal. For me, at 55, it looks like:
- Feeling good in my body and enjoying playful style.
- Living in integrity and being trusted to be myself.
- Gathering with people who light me up – because that’s where I’m my most vibrant.
- Evolving and Uplevelling
As women in business, we are constantly evolving. Sometimes misalignment is just a sign you’re ready for the next level. Maybe your network feels stale. Maybe your friendships don’t feel the same. Maybe you’re retreating inwards.
That’s not failure – it’s evolution.
Like layers of an onion, every stage brings us closer to alignment. The reflection in the mirror may blur at times, but it will come back into focus.
Vibrancy Is Good for Business
When you are vibrant, you are your most powerful, resilient, and productive. Opportunities open up, clients thrive, and businesses grow.
On the flip side, when vibrancy is sucked out of you, it impacts everything – revenue, growth, and most importantly, your wellbeing.
That’s why I help my clients tune into their own vibrancy filters. Because when you love your business again, the results are magnetic.
Final Thought
Life is too short to be a slave to your business. If you’re feeling flat, misaligned or like there’s no room left for you, maybe it’s time to find your vibrancy again.
